Reports: Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, Khabib’s father, dies from COVID-19 complications

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, the father of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, has died at the age of 57 due to COVID-19 complications. According to a report from RT Sport, the specific cause of death was “irreversible brain trauma caused by a stroke” and he was last residing at a hospital in Moscow.

THE father of mixed martial arts (MMA) Khabib Nurmagomedov died on Friday believed to be the victim of COVID-19.

Abdulmanap, 57, was previously reported to have been critically ill and in a coma due to pneumonia.

He was admitted to the hosipital on April 26 after being suspected of having the disease and having a heart attack.

Abdulmanap is one of the individuals responsible for training Khabib from childhood until his son is now the UFC lightweight champion.

He is also recognized as the father of MMA sports in Dagestan for having given birth to several world champions and Olympic champions in roman-greek, boat and judo sports.
